When we chose Anna, we knew that we wanted to raise our children in a small town. We wanted the environment that we had both grown up in for our children. We wanted our neighbors to know our faces and our kids' faces. We wanted our children to attend schools where they were not just another number. Anna is all that!

However, Anna is on the cusp of becoming a big city. NOW is the time to develop a vision for Anna ~ a vision of how Anna will be 10 years from now ~ of how Anna will be when our children are grown.

I know that Anna will not stay small. So let's take advantage of that knowledge and plan our future. Controlled Growth is the term that is thrown around a lot, but it makes sense.

Why should you vote for me? I care about Anna! I care about what happens in Anna today, I care about what Anna becomes in the future and I care about how Anna gets there. I will work hard to ensure that the steps Anna takes to grow are what is best for the future of Anna.

I will work hard to ensure that your tax dollars are used wisely; that Anna has a strong plan that will help move this city into the next decade. I will work to ensure that Anna remains a town we all want to live in and raise our children in.

I want to see businesses come to Anna. I love the new arrivals that we have seen over the past year, but now I want to see businesses that can sustain a family; businesses with higher paying jobs so our citizens do not have to drive 70 miles a day to make a living. I will work with the other city entities to encourage new businesses to make Anna their home.

Can Anna keep the small town feel through all this growth and change? I think it can, but it is going to take dedication and hard, hard work. I am willing to make that commitment to you and to Anna. I have already set out on a course to help Anna grow! I have been on the Board of Directors for my Homeowners Association for two years. I am on the newly created Master Plan Citizens Advisory Committee and I am an active member in the Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce. I attend church in Anna, buy my groceries in Anna, send my children to school in Anna ~ I care about Anna!
